There must be a dearth of creative thinking in Hollywood. Or way too much illegal drug usage. I mean what else can explain such titles as “Cowboys and Aliens” or the most recent entry on the stupid list, “Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter”. Okay maybe that was bit harsh. But, really, come on people, is this the best you can do?
Hollywood has turned the 16th President of the United States in an axe wielding super hero. I must admit the visuals are stunning in the trailer, but it’s just a trailer. Unknown actor Benjamin Walker plays Lincoln. There are signs that I am not going to like this movie, like the description on the IMDb page “Abraham Lincoln, the 18th President of the United States, discovers vampires are planning to take over the United States. He makes it his mission to eliminate them.” Lincoln was our 16th President.
Timur Bekmambetov is a Russian director who must love Vampire movies. He also threw together the very disappointing “Wanted” starring Angelina Jolie.
By all accounts it looks like a big budget film. I suspect that it will do well at the box office because young people are into Vampires these days.
