The film below is a perfect match for our Billtown Film Festival. It reflects the 2012 theme, Art Women and the Environment. In this case, we’re talking about one woman in particular, fashion designer, Donna Karan. Yes, she’s a real person. Check your closet. Do you have a DKNY label? That’s her.
She has started another store called Urban Zen. She buys objects of art from Haitian artisans and sells them at her upscale swanky store. Hold on, I know what you’re thinking… The money, 100% percent of it, goes back to the artists!
We’re hoping to get the film in time for our next event in April. It would be great to see it on the big screen. So keep your fingers crossed. In the meantime, check the video below. Seeing it on the small screen is better than nothing. Enjoy.
